What is IPL?

IPL (Intense Pulsed Light), also know as a photo facial, is a treatment that is particularly successful in removing age spots (red/brown pigmentation), sun damage, vascular lesions (spider veins, port wine stains, leg telangectasias), rosacea, freckles and acne scarring to restore a clear complexion and rejuvenating skin tone. Here at Hideout, we use InMode’s Lumecca™ which can be used on any part of the body with excellent results.

Who is a candidate for IPL?

Patients who have sun damage, rosacea, broken capillaries and redness and are a Fitzpatrick type I-IV are eligible for IPL.

What to expect with an IPL treatment:

IPL can be done with minimal downtime and discomfort. Sun avoidance is required 2 weeks before and after treatment. Brown spots will be darker and redness may appear more red directly following treatment. Brown spots will begin to come to the surface of the skin and form a crust that will flake off on its own. Redress will start to dissipate over time as the tiny blood vessels blanch and disappear. Makeup can be used right after treatment to cover any redness/pigmentation which allows for minimal downtime! Usually 2-4 treatments are recommended.
